Lasting Power of Attorneys

A Lasting Power of Attorney is a legal document that enables you or a family member to decide what should happen and who’d be able to make decisions when a person is unable to make decisions for themselves. Often put in place for both welfare and financial decisions when people are concerned about losing mental capacity as they get older.

FUTURE GENERATIONS

Your Will tells everyone what should happen to your money, possessions & property ( your estate ) after you die. Making a Will ensures your estate is shared according to your wishes.

Everyone should have a Will, but it is even more important if you have children, property, savings, investments, insurance policies or own a business.

If you don’t leave a Will, the law decides how your estate is divided. This might not be in line with your wishes and causes worry and stress for your loved ones.

TRUSTS

A trust agreement is a document that spells out the rules you want followed for property held in trust for your beneficiaries. Common objectives for trusts are to reduce the estate tax liability, to protect your property in your estate and to avoid probate charges on your property.

Think of a trust as a special place in which ordinary property from your estate goes in and, as a result takes on a sort of new identity and often is bestowed with super powers, immunity from estate taxes, resistance to probate and can be handed down to your blood line for generations to come.
